Holiday season is all about celebrating and that means shuffling between events! To help you dress through the biggest parties of the season I am bringing you Style Guides inspired straight off the Runway called – Runway Miracles!
So stay posted through the rest of the month for the most jaw-dropping looks!
This time we’re tackling a cocktail party!
Cocktail party? What is that about?
Is it formal? Is it semi-formal?
So many unsaid rules for dressing loom over you as you make plans to attend a cocktail party!
Don’t worry you’re not alone.
While there are plenty of guides available online for the right type of attire for a cocktail event, I bring you the only tips you need to keep in mind while dressing for one!
P.S. You can shop my look below. The sweater I’m wearing is currently OOS but you can keep a check on it here. I’ve added a similar option for you, just incase! 😉
Style Tip 1:
Considering plunging necklines or open-backs? Stop that thought right there.
Opt for clothes that don’t have a revealing neckline.
Style Tip 2:
Midi-hemlines are great for cocktail parties. Going too short or too long on your hemlines is not advisable! So midi hemlines it is.
Style Tip 3:
Always (I cannot emphasize this enough) but always, wear heels! There is no way around it. No matter the size of the heel, they could be kitten heels or stilettos, either of them work!
Style Tip 4:
When you’re accessorizing, wear one highlight accessory. You do not want to come across as too flashy at one of these events! Keep it subtle and simple, with a statement accessory and add a clutch for an added effect.
Inspiration: Love the juxtaposition of the shimmer against the plain sweater. A play with the opposites is always my favorite! It’s what I’ve done in my outfit too.
Need exclusive styling advice for any of the upcoming parties?
I’m all ears girls, drop me a comment below with #RunwayMiracle and let’s make this work.
Parties can be daunting, I know from experience, I always felt a little insecure attending them, they are supposed to be fun, but it somehow turns into an exercise in self-confidence.
But there is something I’ve learnt over time…
You know what makes an outfit truly special – YOU!
You are the magic potion girl, so be yourself and rock that party!
