Vegan Overalls And How To Pull Them Off

Well, hello there!
It feels so good to be back – It has been a while since my last blog. At the beginning of the new year, my health took a turn for the worse and I have been in recovery.
I’m finally feeling like myself and I’m so thrilled to be writing again.
Nothing gets the creative juices flowing like some downtime. Even though this one was a bit forced, but hey! No complaints.

In the new year I am itching to try out new trends – one of my intentions for 2018 – you can read all about it here.

The two trends I’m picking first are overalls and micro sunglasses.

Step 1: Let’s talk about – Overalls!
Did that tiny little voice in your head just say – “Skip this post – you cannot pull off overalls, ever!”
Don’t listen to it and keep on reading darling.
A while ago I had the same inhibitions about wearing overalls. Until I decided to take a leap of faith and just go for it. And while I was at it I decided I might as well have some fun with it, so Leather Overalls it was for me.

Second Skin Overalls created by WeWoreWhat founder, Danielle Bernstein is like an online mecca for everything overalls. Their designs are trendy and spot-on – I picked the Vegan Leather Overalls (Yes it’s Vegan! Score for guilt-free fashion) – it is currently OOS, but you can check it out here. I’m sure you will find something here that you will love.

#Protip – The torso-leg proportion is the most important thing when buying overalls, so I suggest you try out various sizes to land on the perfect one for you.

  • For those of you with an hourglass figure (shoulders and hip are in proportion with a slender waist) so go for well-fitted options. They will work wonders for you.
  • If you’re tall and slender, you could consider wearing the top down for an edgier look.
  • Petite women – keep your belts close! It’s going to help you rock an overall.

Step 2: Tee Time
Now this is completely based on your preference. You can choose to rock an overall with or without a t-shirt. Fitted tees or bodysuits are the most preferred options. I chose a gray t-shirt with tie-up design sleeves from H&M (The one I’m sporting is unavailable but you can check the other options they have).
You can choose tank-tops or lacey spaghetti tops. Think about what vibe you want to give off and roll with it.

Step 3: Boot Up
I was feeling particularly badass and I wanted that to reflect in my look, hence these lace-up boots from Schutz. Again the overall look of the outfit will define your choice of shoes, overalls work perfectly with sneakers too – if you’re going for a casual look.

Step 4: Magic of Micro Sunglasses
If you’re thinking this is so 90s, well yes it is, that’s what I love about it the most! I am particularly thrilled that this trend is back. While we all love a classic cat-eye or that favorite oversized pair, you’ve got to admit that micro sunglasses do not disappoint. I’m sporting a pair from Illesteva, buy it here.

That’s me trying out new trends and adding my spin to it along the way.
Have you been sticking to your resolutions so far? If you’ve slipped up then allow yourself some grace.
Roadblocks are a part of life… It’s a fresh day, time to reboot.
