Quirky Lehenga Ideas for Your Next Bridal Party Look

Hey Darlings,

The wedding season in India is just around the corner, that means for those of you who have friends and family tying the knot, now is the best time to shop!

As you know my brother got married in June, and while I’m going to be sharing all the pictures from the Great Indian Wedding that happened in L.A. with you real soon, I especially wanted to share this outfit by Archana Kochhar that I wore for his Sangeet with you.

Here are 10 reasons why you should consider getting yourself a quirky lehenga too.

#1 Block Printing

This style made by using paint on fabric to create beautiful motifs is an Indian heritage and I wanted to carry a little piece of India with me, so I choose to go with this one.
These techniques have been around for centuries, and their presence even in the modern world cannot dilute their eternal charm.

#2 Neon is In

Yes, we see a lot of people flaunt their neon biker-shorts or dresses, but how about adding a traditional spin to this quirky color trend.
I love how beautifully Archana Kochhar, the designer has blended in the colors of today in this outfit.
Take a bow Archana!

#3 Versatility

Lehengas are considered to be the opposite of versatile. But not when you’re going for a quirky one. The design, colors and the overall appeal of the skirt allows me to wear this skirt in future and mix and match it with different crop tops or dupattas. I’m no longer confined to using just one choli over it. I can style it the way I want, and that kind of versatility in a traditional lehenga is unheard of.

#4 Stands Out But Doesn’t Steal The Day

The one thing you need to be especially, when you are not the bride is conscious that it is not your day. So yes, dress your best, but also keep in mind that the stunner is going to be the one-and-only bride. The royal blue color stands out, but doesn’t have the screaming “Oh-Look-At-Me” vibe, which is super refreshing.

#5 It’s A Keeper and a Staple

Let’s see what makes this lehenga a Keeper:

  • Block printing – Check
  • Bead Work – Check
  • Interesting Taj Mahal motifs – Check
  • Timeless Color – Check

All of these aspects will make sure that you can wear this lehenga for years to come.
So think about it, you’ve stored it for over 10 years and then there is an occasion you might need to dig it up for, well, it’s still going to be in style.
Or, you want to keep wearing it by styling it in different ways – you can definitely do that too darling.

This is why I absolutely LOVE this beautiful lehenga from Archana Kochhar.

Also, I have a confession darlings, I did give in to temptation and wear my Prada sneakers with the lehenga.
Honestly, they are so much more fun to wear, and you can be sure to dance all night long!

Guess what, I did fall in love with the way it was bringing my look together!

What do you think darlings?
Craving a quirky lehenga already?
Yes or No?
