HOW TO STYLE DIFFERENT COLORS

Hi darling!

So, I promised you I would start wearing more colors and here it is! You know me, I love my neutrals but I’ve been completely captivated by all these color combos that are trending right now. I think it’s important to have your own style, but with time I’ve also realized that as humans we change and that’s something I want to embrace. I always say that fashion is about having fun, feeling good with yourself and trying new things, so why stay in a box when you can explore a world of possibilities?

Now, when it comes to styling different colors, it can get a little tricky, so I want to share a couple of tips with you. For that, we’re going to use the color wheel! I bet you got tired of seeing in school and you never thought it could apply to fashion but it can!

First, let’s go over the color wheel:

As we all know, we have primary and complementary colors, but the color wheel can also be divided into two categories: warm and cool. When it comes to styling, there are a few ways to make your outfit stand out:

COMPLEMENTARY COLORS

One easy way to make your outfit look very interesting is by using complementary colors, these are the ones that are completely opposed on the color wheel.

ADJACENT COLORS

These are colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.

TRIADIC COLORS

These colors are equally spaced apart, you can unite them by using a triangle:

MONOCHROME

These are some ways to style colors using the color wheel but another way to wear colors is creating monochrome outfits, where you can wear different shades of the same color to add dimension.

I hope this guide was useful and don’t forget, the most important part is being creative and having fun, if you end up using these tips don’t forget to tag me on Instagram so I can see your outfits!
