The Coachella Weekend – THE Place To Be!
There is always a certain degree of nervousness that grips me when I’m on the cusp of a new experience.
The same thing happened when I was planning for my first ever trip to the festival in the desert.
I don’t do well in crowded spaces, so I was mentally preparing myself for three days of festival fun, and the hoards of festival goers.
But what I found once I got there was people who are gathering for one true purpose – losing themselves in music – it was a collective gathering of people who are there for the purpose of drowning everything else out. Needless to say this worked out perfectly well for me.
With days of endless music and surrounded by my most favorite people – Coachella turned out to be even better than what I imagined. It was a dream weekend in a dream location and when the setting is so perfect – you can bet the fashion would be too.
With this first post, I’m kicking off a three part series of what I wore to Coachella – so brace yourself for some major fashion inspiration.
When I was picking out my outfits for the weekend, I had to look at them as pieces that I would wear all summer-long and not just wear it this one time and push it far away into my closet.
So you can be sure that even long after Coachella is over, the fashion will go on!
Here’s what went into creating the outfit 1 for Coachella:
Double Denim Set
Are you tired of me glorifying denim in every blog post? Get used to it! I had to pick a double denim look – it’s perfect and you can never go wrong with it. Need more proof? The lovely Brittany Xavier from Thrifts and Threads sported it too, check it out here.
It’s one material that sets right into the desert vibes, don’t you think?
Note: I get a commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.
Another alternative to an ultra chic denim set is one-piece! Don’t want to look like a big baby in denim overalls? allow me to change your mind.
Boot It Up
Denim and boots is a match made in heaven – I kid you not.
There is nothing that makes a double denim outfit feel complete than a pair of rad boots.
I’m sporting a snake print boot from Shop Planet Blue, it’s not available online, so I’m sharing similar options for you to shop from.
For those of you who have been keeping up with Runway to Road since its beginning, you will know that I am a minimalist when it comes to accessories. I rarely accessories, and when I do, it will be minimal. Sure I make a few exceptions sometimes, like here.
But for Coachella, I broke my rule and went crazy with accessories. Multi-layered necklaces, face-painting, studded belts and embellished bag from Rebecca Minkoff – whatever it is bring it on!
It was go hard or go home for me, and I for one wasn’t ready to go home yet!
Sharing some of my top picks for accessories that will last you all Summer.
That’s a wrap for the outfit details of my very first day at Coachella!
The night ended with a CRAZY performance by The Weeknd, that man’s voice is magic I tell you.
It’s strange to find moments of peace in a multitude of thousands of people, but that’s what happened.
More craziness and titbits from my experience coupled with outfits that would make the Desert Sun jealous, coming your way in the next few days!
Have you ever been to Coachella?
What’s your favorite memory of the time you spent there? I’m listening.
