I’ve gotta say being back in India after so long was absolutely craaazzzyyy!
I was in India for something really interesting, my brother is getting married this year – YAY!
And I was visiting to SHOP my heart out in preparation for his ‘Big Day’!
I’m sure you know that a Big Fat Indian wedding comes power-packed with so many different ceremonies and events back to back that you just don’t have enough time to catch a break – but one thing you cannot let slide is the Fashion – and as the sister of the groom I gotta bring my A-game on.
For the past few weeks I have been on the hunt for the best outfits in India!
And now I’m bringing these to you – The best of wedding fashion in India for brides and guests.
A raging trend in Indian wear right now is Fusion Wear – whimsy combination of traditional India with the wonder of western world!
These vibrant colors, intricate embroideries and rich fabrics make my heart melt!
And one brand that is making its mark in the world of fusion fashion is Kalki Fashion!
They are all about ethnicity with a contemporary twist.
They house an exclusive range of bridal, couture and prêt collection as well as accessories, footwear and jewelry which makes it one of the most sought after shopping destination for women.
For someone like me who likes to see options wherever I go and also love places that can multitask are always welcome!
And guess what I’m going to bring you a first-hand look at some of the incredible outfits they house!
I’m obsessed with everything crop and I love that the outfit has a crop top with palazzo pants – this coupled with the sheer long jacket create magic together!
Planning to attend a pre-wedding ceremony – like a cocktail dinner? This outfit would be absolutely perfect!
While you take in the beautiful view of Jaipur paired with this elegant outfit, let me share with you the tips to wear Indo-Western attire, right!
Tip #1 Play with Colors
If you aren’t playing with colors you aren’t doing it right! Go beyond the usual color range you opt for. Get quirky, mix and match and just have fun.
Tip #2 Keep it One-Toned
I know, I know, it’s the opposite of what I just said, but if you are someone who isn’t too generous with colors, *cough, cough* (like me!) then go for a one tone look. Pick one color that works for you and make it work.
Tip #3 Layer Right
The secret is in fact in the layering darlings!
Pair a dhoti with a saree layered over, or wear a choli as a jacket – you literally have no barriers when you choose to go Indo-Western.
Tip #4 Make a Statement with Accessories
Accessories are to an outfit – what oxygen is to humans (dramatic much?)
With all western looks you can pass off a clean look with minimal to no accessories and it will still work, but for an indo-western outfit – Do Not – I repeat – DO NOT Leave your home without accessories!
Tip #5 Don’t forget to have fun
This one’s a personal favorite of mine – have fun when you dress up! Fusion wear is all about the unexpected, so revel in it.
Enjoy the process.
That sums it all up for me!
What’s your favorite fusion style?
Tell me more, darlings!
