2-Step Date Night Look For Busy Girls

Chasing those work-deadlines got your relationship on the back-burner?
I can completely relate to you.

Sometimes we can be so overwhelmed with home and work, and all the responsibilities that come with being ‘The Adult’ that dressing up is honestly the last thing on your mind.

But when you really think about it, if you aren’t feeling good about what you’re wearing, your confidence will take a hit, and then you’re just trapped in an endless loop of not feeling good.
Well, not on my watch darlings!

Let’s make sure that you look great with the least amount of effort!
How about switching your date-night outfit to a minimum of 2-steps only?

Sounds good?

Let’s begin!

Step 1: Pick a Set or a Jumpsuit

When you’re picking a denim, trousers or even a skirt and pairing it up with a top, it does take a lot more effort to decide what your final look is going to be.
But, if you pick a set that already dictates the top and bottom you’re wearing or even a jumpsuit for that matter, you know your outfit is fixed.
So all that time which goes into deciding a look is cut down to 0 almost immediately.
Now you might ask, Why not go for a dress instead?
Because it is expected! Where’s the fun in that?

I have picked a set and a jumpsuit to show you two variations of a date-night look.
But there’s one thing in common, can you guess what it is?
Vertical stripes!

There are a bunch of benefits that come with wearing vertical stripes:

  • They elongate your legs
  • They make you appear slimmer

A stylists’ tip to make vertical stripes work is to – Use vertical stripes on the area that according to you should be looking longer and leaner.
So if sets and jumpsuits are not what you’re going for, you can use pinstripe pants if you want to create the illusion of longer legs. Or if you want a shorter torso to appear longer, then you can go for a top that has vertical stripes. It is all about the details and knowing your body well!

Step 2: Select Your Shoes

Shoes will now make or break your look!
But you don’t need to worry about what you’re going to be styling your outfit with!
As long as you have the basics in your closet in place, you should be good.

Look 1:

Here you see me sporting tan boots over my striped set.
I love tan boots, they are very essential for any wardrobe.
And if you haven’t invested in these yet, you most definitely should. Ensure that the ones you’re picking out are ankle length. Tan is a color that is very versatile and can be paired with multiple outfits, having the boots in ankle length also maintains its versatility, so now you can wear it across seasons.

Look 2:

Bring on over classic black pumps because they are Never Ever Leaving The Fashion Scene.
There are a few items that bring comfort to fashionistas and girls who are not so much into fashion alike – The Black Pumps.
Its versatility is unmatched, and if you have this one thing in your closet, you can survive. (Doesn’t mean it should be the only thing in your closet ladies, read between the lines).
I’ve selected some classic black pumps in various price ranges for you.
So if you’re missing out on this closet essential, get your hands on it right now.

Another thing to note is, I’ve picked shoes that are very neutral because my outfits in both the cases are so color heavy that the shoes are there just to complement it.
That’s a decision you will need to make based on the cut/color/style of your outfit.
If your outfit is simpler, go for statement shoes, if not go for classic ones like I have.
